It is also the most visited of all the Islands and therefore, most developed. Few of the major attractions include the Hilina Slump and the Great Crack.
Island of Maui: This is the second largest Island of Hawaii and is nicknamed as the valley Isle. It is also one of the most populated among the Hawaiian Islands. It is a whale watchers’ paradise because a number of humpback whales from Alaska gather here for the winter season.
Island of Oahu: It is the third largest Island of Hawaii. Due to its amazing beauty, it attracts a lot of visitors and is the most populated one among all the Islands. Honolulu, the state capital of Hawaii is also located on the same Island. Another reason for its popularity is the number of significant places such as Diamond Head crater, Pearl Harbor and the Valley of Temples.
The Island of Kauai: The garden Isle or the Kauai Island is the fourth largest Island of the Hawaiian Islands. It was the first Island to be discovered by Captain James Cook. Due to its exotic beauty, the Island has been the hotspot for film shootings. Many famous films including the remake of King Kong and the Raiders of the Lost Ark were shot here on this Island.
Molokai: Although much smaller in size, but Molokai is rated as the most scenic and beautiful Island in the region. It is nicknamed as the friendly isle, because its breathtaking beauty is extremely warm and friendly for the visitors. It was rated tenth on the list of most sustainable destinations. The Molokai Island was tenth while the other Islands of Hawaii were above 50th rank. Although it is a beauty to see, the tourism rate is lower because of opposition from its community members. It is still worth a visit.
